Choreography: By George Balanchine.

Premiere: December 7, 1960, New York City Ballet, City Center of Music and Drama, New York. Conductor: Robert Irving.

Note: The choreography is jazz-inspired in a cabaret style, one of a quartet of works by Balanchine, Todd Bolender, Francisco Moncion, and John Taras collectively titled Jazz Concert. Balanchine first used this music for a dance in 1922; in 1966, he choreographed another work to this score, titled Ragtime (II).
