Premiere: March 5, 1935, American Ballet, Adelphi Theater, New York. Conductor: Sandor Harmati. (First performed in America by students of the School of American Ballet, June 10, 1934, at Woodlands, the estate of Felix Warburg, Hartsdale [near White Plains], New York.)

Cast: The Ballerina, Leda Anchutina; THE POLKA: Gisella Caccialanza, Paul Haakon (guest artist); The Acrobat, William Dollar; THE MARCH: The Knave, Edward Caton; 2 Buffoons, 6 Pages (women); THE CAN-CAN: Holly Howard, 8 women; The Lady and the Prince, Kathryn Mullowny, Charles Laskey; THE FINALE: Entire cast; EPILOGUE: The Fairy Queen, Mary Sale.

Note: Originally presented as Les Songes by Les Ballets 1933, Paris, with commissioned music by Darius Milhaud. Since this music could not be obtained for performance in America, a new score was commissioned; most of the choreography was from the 1933 production.
