21. EXTASE

Music: By George Balanchine.

Choreography: By George Balanchine.

Premiere: 1923 [?]

Cast: Unavailable (pas de deux for ballerina and partner).

Note: Balanchine did not remember for whom he created this pas de deux, which he thought might possibly have been included in the first Evening of the Young Ballet, June 1, 1923, at the Duma, Petrograd, although it does not appear on the poster announcing the concert. Alexandra Danilova thought it might have been made for Lydia Ivanova and Rostislav Slavianinov.
