American version by Stanislaus Stange (1909). Revised book by Guy Bolton. Revised and additional lyrics by Bernard Hanighen. Orchestrations by Jay Blackton.

Choreography: By George Balanchine. Assistant to Mr. Balanchine: Edward Brinkman.

Production: Produced by J. H. Del Bondio and Hans Bartsch for the Delvan Company. Directed by Felix Brentano. Scenery and lighting by Jo Mielziner. Costumes by Lucinda Ballard. Scenery built by Martin Turner Studios and painted by Studio Alliance; costumes executed by Eaves Costume Company.

Premiere: March 12, 1947, New Century Theatre, New York. Conductor: Jay Blackton. (Out-of-town preview: February 6, Forrest Theatre, Philadelphia.)
