Music: By Constant Lambert (Adam and Eve ballet score, 1924-25, retitled by Diaghilev).

Choreography: By Bronislava Nijinska; choreography of the entr'acte by George Balanchine.

Production: 'Night' and 'Day' curtains by Max Ernst; front curtain and stage pieces by Joan Miró. Curtains and stage pieces executed by Prince A. Schervashidze; costumes executed by Georgette Vialet.

Premiere: May 4, 1926, Diaghilev's Ballets Russes, Opéra de Monte-Carlo. Conductor: Marc-César Scotto.

Cast: PART I: Tamara Karsavina, Serge Lifar; Maestro, Thadée Slavinsky; 14 women, 12 men.
PART II: Juliet, Karsavina; Romeo, Lifar; Nurse, Lydia Sokolova; Pierre, Servant to Capulet, Léon Woizikowsky; The Maestro, Rehearsing as Tybalt, Slavinsky; Paris, Constantin Tcherkas; 14 women, 12 men.

Note: Balanchine's entr'acte was staged without music between the two parts. A drop-curtain was lowered to within a foot or two of the ground so that only the dancers' legs and feet were visible.
