Note
The scene is a Latin feast in Etruscan Italy; two genii attend pagan rites performed by matrons, buffoons, acrobats. The Young Girl encounters a priest of Lupercal; wearing a three-faced mask, he dances for her a parable of youth, maturity, and old age. A final scene of orgy ends in ridicule with the entrance of the donkey of Silenus.
