Note
Titled after a poem by Verlaine and choreographed for two figures veiled in white who dance in surreal surroundings with a bicyclist and a figure costumed as a turtle. Dali’s backdrop, filled with images of bearded bicyclists and a grand piano spouting water, was designed to suggest extreme loneliness experienced in the midst of a crowd.
