Note
Le Renard was first choreographed by Bronislava Nijinska for Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes in 1922, and rechoreographed for that company by Serge Lifar in 1929. Balanchine’s version was first presented on the second Ballet Society program, which also included the premiere of Divertimento.
