Note
During the period 1923-24, at least two works were rehearsed by Balanchine but not performed. The four-hand piano score to Stravinsky’s Pulcinella was available in Russia; Balanchine began preparing the ballet in January 1924, but the project proved to be beyond the resources of the Young Ballet and had to be abandoned. According to Taper, he also expressed an interest in choreographing Le Sacre du Printemps. He also rehearsed the Milhaud-Cocteau Le Bœuf sur le Toit.
