Balanchine considered his Pas de Trois Classique essentially a restaging of Petipa’s pas de trois from Paquita. He changed some steps for the 1951 New York City Ballet version; the ballet possibly contains additional original Balanchine choreography, as is usual in his remounting of the classics.
