Selections from The George Balanchine Video Archives are now available in streaming video to academic institutions.
The George Balanchine Foundation has partnered with electronic publisher Alexander Street Press to make a number of seminal Balanchine video titles available to dance faculty, students, and researchers through the publisher's online collection of streaming video for libraries, Dance in Video. A leading publisher of scholarly online resources, Alexander Street has developed a reputation for producing streaming video collections with uniquely powerful search functionality and practical tools for teaching and research.
Content from the George Balanchine Foundation in Dance in Video includes tapes from the Foundation's archival video series, such as Archive of Lost Choreography and the Interpreters Archive, featuring coaching sessions and interviews with Maria Tallchief, Helgi Tomasson, Allegra Kent, and Frederic Franklin. It is anticipated that further Balanchine video titles will be added to the series.
